Human Rights in Jewish Sources
This project aims at dealing with the theme of Human Rights from the point of view of Judaism and its sources.
Although the Human Rights concept, as we understand it nowadays, is related to the contemporary world and the society of organized nations, the project invites us to trace man’s rights throughout the traditional sources of Judaism. The objective is to explore in depth a legislation that has been present for more than two thousand years, promoting respect for human beings as the core element in the collective goal of achieving a fair society.
One of the crucial points within the Jewish educational framework is the acquaintance and confrontation with the Jewish culture throughout its generations, and the challenge they represent. The knowledge of cultural and religious sources may help us answer and face dilemmas in everyday life, as well as enrich our constantly evolving identity.
The project includes several didactic proposals.
